ABOUT US

Our Story Began With A Vision

Stonegaze Vineyard is a boutique two hectare vineyard nestled near Yallingup in the heart of Western Australia’s renowned Margaret River wine region.

What began as a dream has grown into a family owned vineyard producing small batches of premium wines, guided by a philosophy of patience, simplicity and respect for the land. Every bottle reflects the journey of the family behind it and the unique character of the site they call home.

THE BEGINNING

2001

Wayne and Jill McGriskin purchased the property in 2001, drawn to the beauty and potential of the land.

Unsure of the most suitable crop, they commissioned a soil analysis through Quinlan Soil Dynamics in 2008. The results confirmed the site was highly suited to viticulture, laying the foundation for what would become Stonegaze Vineyard.

ESTABLISHING THE VINEYARD

2009

The vineyard was established in 2009, and in 2011 Wayne and Jill relocated to the property to pursue their long held dream of creating their own wine label.

After years spent building careers in finance and raising their two daughters in Perth, the move marked the beginning of a new chapter centred around family, farming and winemaking.

TODAY

2026

Over the years the vineyard has matured, with both yield and quality steadily improving as the vines have established themselves.

Stonegaze follows a minimalist approach to viticulture, utilising natural farming practices with no chemical herbicides or pesticides and minimal intervention in the vineyard. This philosophy is carried through to the winemaking process, allowing the fruit and the site to speak for themselves.

The current Cabernet Blend and Malbec vintages are named after two of Wayne and Jill’s grandchildren, Isabella and Noah, a reflection of the family legacy that continues to shape Stonegaze Vineyard.
